Alvin is a city in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area and Brazoria County. Alvin's claim to fame is Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan, who moved with his family to the city in 1947 as an infant and lived there until he moved to Round Rock in 2003. The Nolan Ryan Museum is in the Nolan Ryan Foundation and Exhibit Center on the campus of Alvin Community College.

Resoft County park has everything. Walking trails, ponds to fish in, hibachis at every table, disc golf, and a playground. Nice Trails going around ponds with lots of ducks and other birds. Very clean and well-maintained. Very nice family park. Nice ponds to walk around.
Alvin Museum Society is Nice small-town museum with activities for children. Wonderful exhibits and extensive historical perspectives of Alvin, Texas. Everyone in Brazoria County should go to this museum.Great information that is laid out in an extraordinary way to encourage leasury learning. Beautiful, informative, interesting museum.
Tom Blakeney Jr Hike & Bike Trail is Hiking area in Alvin, Texas. Great place for a walk or run while offering an alternative view of the city only seen bu foot. Many things along the trail – train depot, skate park, Oak Park, library, city pool, restaurants, bars – all in the shadows of Mustang Bayou.
